Tommy is a graduate student in Dr. Evelyn Gaiser's lab at FIU, researching the landscape-level effects of environmental change and sea level rise on the algal-microbial communities of the Everglades. His goals are to better understand how ecosystems maintain themselves or change in the face of disturbance, and to promote greater communication and mutual understanding between the scientific community and other realms of our global society.
