Alexandra is a PhD student in the Marine Conservation Ecology lab. Her research focuses on investigating habitat use, forging ecology, behavioral ecology, and ecotoxicology of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops turncatus) in Biscayne Bay. Alexandra uses multiple methods such as heavy metal analysis, focal follows, and drones in her research. Alexandra seeks to uncover how pollutants and mercury, and other factors related to habitat degradation impact the population of bottlenose dolphins in Biscayne Bay.
