I am a freshwater ecologist whose research focuses on community ecology, trophic ecology, and ecotoxicology. My dissertation research is on biotic interactions along hydroperiod and productivity gradients that impact aquatic community structure and alter the transport of mercury and essential fatty acids through aquatic insect emergence in the Florida Everglades. This work has important implications for determining drivers of food availability and nutritional quality for marsh birds such as the federally listed endangered Cape Sable seaside sparrow.
