My area of research falls within the fields of stable isotope ecology and hydrogeochemistry. The main focus of my thesis project is to use stable isotopes as a tool to identify and monitor nutrient inputs and fluctuations in the mangrove lake sub-estuaries of north-central Florida Bay. I hope to convey a better understanding of how nutrients can be traced in aquatic systems and into the food web allowing for more informed water management practices to maintain ecosystem health in the Florida Coastal Everglades.
