My research interest is to understand the discrepancies in estimating the reliable conditional stability constants of the binding of mercury with model ligands and aquatic dissolved organic matter (DOM) through a comparative study by various analytical methods. This research will provide an improved understanding of Hg-DOM complexation, more accurately determining the binding constants and elucidating the Hg-DOM binding mechanisms, further clarifying the role of Hg-DOM complexation in aquatic Hg cycling.
