I am working on a project that assesses how human and biophysical controls on dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentrations, characteristics, and bioavailability vary across spatiotemporal scales in urban streams and canals. While pursuing my Ph.D. under Dr. Kominoski's mentorship, I will attempt to answer: How do human activities introduce novel sources of carbon, nutrients, and contaminants and affect the spatial and temporal scales of ecological processes in urban aquatic ecosystems?
