My primary research interest is understanding how rapidly rising sea levels are affecting the coastal
geomorphology and biogeochemistry of mangrove wetlands. With my PhD project, I’m measuring how
wrack exports from nearshore seagrass habitats are affecting soil dynamics in Biscayne National Park’s
coastal mangrove forest. I would like to continue exploring research into investigating how connectivity
between nearshore seagrass habitats and coastal mangrove forests affects blue carbon storage
potential. I’m always excited to discuss and learn new questions and findings about our ecosystems with
colleagues and the public.
