I am interested in comparing targeted, (LC-MS/MS) and nontargeted (Orbitrap) methods to detect and quantify PFAS and other emerging and organic contaminants. My dissertation work will focus on the fate and transport of PFAS in surface water that discharges into Biscayne Bay to identify high priority compounds for remediation. In addition, I will characterize sources of contamination that are not from surface water, such as stormwater runoff, to better understand overall pollution of the tributaries and Bay.
