Danielle Hatt
Danielle Hatt is a Ph.D. candidate in the Campbell Global Change Lab at the Biscayne Bay campus. Her research broadly focuses on the impacts of climate change on blooming species of macroalgae in tropical and subtropical regions. Specifically, her dissertation research aims at determining the eco-physiological responses of pelagic Sargassum to fluctuating sea surface temperature, nutrient concentrations, and carbon dioxide concentrations. In addition, she hopes to quantify the tissue nutrient content and heavy metal concentrations of these influxes landing in South Florida as they have the potential to act as vectors for transport of these constituents to various shorelines across the Atlantic region.
