My research focuses on the functional diversity of crustose coralline algae (CCA) on Florida’s coral reefs and their role in promoting reef resilience. As well as examining CCA diversity, recruitment, calcification rates, and their impact on coral settlement. Additionally, genetic testing is conducted to improve species identification. This work aims to fill knowledge gaps in reef ecology and support coral reef conservation.
