Since my freshman year of high school, I have been aware of the growing concern for global water supply/quality. Through my research I will be investigating groundwater and its constituents and how it affects the surrounding surface water. Although based in the Everglades (Shark River Slough), the knowledge I acquire from my project will be applicable to many global wetland ecosystems and will ultimately aid me in my goal of working with a Global Water Organization.
